I picked up this book after reading Lisa's weekly column about everyday life in our local newspaper .... I always felt that each column was a girlfriend and I chatting over a cup of coffee or at the beach ! Easy read , pick it up , read a few pages and come back to the next story anytime you want a glimpse of life with a dash of great humor ! This book made me smile, cry and I loved how it is relating to us all normal people. True opinion, smart and no boundaries. Great read!
Lisa Sugarman's perspective on life, as a parent, teacher, runner, is very open, upbeat, and positive. It's very enjoyable to read her op-ed pieces on topics that need to be discussed -- being courteous, kind, patient, thoughtful, and prepared! Each short piece is fun to read and leaves you agreeing with her thoughts or wondering why you didn't think of things that way!
"Life It Is What It is" is the best book I've read in a long time - It is upbeat, honest, thought provoking and hilarious all at the same time. It is extremely well written, easy to read and it truly relates to all! Perfect book for book clubs, gifts for family and friends or anyone in need of a "best read of the summer" book for those relaxing days at the beach. This book will have you laughing, crying and wanting to read it again and again! A MUST READ!!
Reading Lisa Sugarman's book, "Life, It Is What It is" was amazing. Lisa's style of writing is like no other. Every column, every page was like Lisa was in my own head. Each page was a thoughtful, sincere account of a part of our life we sometimes forget. "Life, It Is What It Is" is a must read!!

Lisa looks at life with a positive attitude. She expresses her views in a real way and doesn't get caught up in all the craziness of, in her words, "keeping up with the Joneses." If you are looking for an essayist who will keep you grounded with her refreshing honesty then read this book.
Life It Is What It Is is my favorite book! It is a compilation of Lisa's most meaningful and relatable opinion columns published in our local newspaper. She writes in a way that makes you think she is talking right to you with her experience, her wisdom and always with a little humor because no one can get through life without it. She makes you think, she makes you laugh and, most importantly, she reminds you that "life is not a straight line...so live big!"
